Labor Unions Announce May Day Actions!

April 2, 2026: Virtual press conference sponsored by Labor for Democracy and May Day Strong highlighting what labor unions and working people are planning for May Day 2026.

Millions turned out for No Kings to say no to authoritarianism and a country run by and for billionaires. That energy is real, and it’s growing. Right now, working people are being pushed to the brink.

That’s why working people and labor unions are speaking out. Because this country belongs to working people—not billionaires, not corporations, not wannabe kings. On May 1, workers across this country will take action with marches, rallies, walkouts, and, in many places, a refusal of business as usual.

Check out this video featuring labor leaders sharing why their union is committed to organizing May Day activities!

Video features:

  • Marcia Howard, President of Minneapolis Federation of Educators Local 59

  • Mary Turner, President of National Nurses United, from Minnesota

  • Lauren Chua, President of United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE) Local 256 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology

  • Faye Guenther, President of UFCW Local 3000 in Seattle
